Held Barbosa de Souza earned a Master of Science degree from the Information Science program of the Library and Information Science School, Université de Montréal, and was a research assistant at the Observatoire des sciences et des technologies of the Université du Québec a Montréal. Since her Bachelor degree in Library Science at the Universidade de Brasília (Brazil), Held participated in research projects on the compilation and analysis of indicators of the scientific production, as well as in projects of harmonization of bibliographic databases. As part of her master thesis, she analysed the academic contribution of Canadian postdoctoral fellows.
