Patents in academia: women's filings have risen fastest

Analyzing more than 4.6 millions patents issued between 1976 and 2013, Cassidy R. Sugimoto, Chaoqun Ni, Jevin West et Vincent Larivière show, in a paper published in PLOS ONE, that women are patenting at higher rates in academia compared to industry, government and individuals.
